dumating ako sa office mejo late mga 8:45am. kinausap ako sa tech tinanung ako..."sa iyo ba yung laptop na yan?" sabi ko "oo...bakit?"

nagulat ako sa mga sumunod na tanung nya...

"may wi-fi ba yan?" then i replied..."alin? yung wireless internet? wala eh...internal LAN card lang"

sabi nya.." kasi simula kanina wala na tayong dial-up dito sa office.sabi ni ma'am wireless WI-FI na lang daw mas mabilis.pero heto gamitin mo muna etong USB-based wi-fi"

nak ng...kakagulat....

waw...technology really surprises me!!!!

i just got home tuesday 4am. where i went?! to bicol.sumama ako kila iyah sa paghatid kay lola sa bicol kasi dun siya ililibing.

nakakalungkot kung iisipin pero sa isang banda alam ko na maayos at tahimik na si lola.

nasanay na ako natawagin siya na lola kasi parang lola ko na rin siya.

ang ganda pala sa bicol.mababait din ang mga tao.ngayun habang ginagawa ko etong blog eh kumakain ako ng pili nuts! ang sarap.

lola...miss ka na namin.hindi ka namin malilimutan lola

seems like money can make things work these days. i have read an article over the net saying that even some of the faculty members are afraid of the bosses at the admin. WTF?!

kung ako sa kanila boycott ako!!!

this coming thursday, may isa pang sigaw para sa katarungan para sa mga mapua. ala "first quarter storm" nung panahon ni makoy.

im very upset with what's happening nowadays. seems like bureaucracy is running the show. ewan ko!!!

mapua institute of technology will be changed to "MALAYAN COLLEGE" and soon to "MALAYAN UNIVERSITY."

its a sad thought. Although i am already a greaduate student from that same school, it really hurts to see my alma mater gone to waste.

dati nung hindi pa kasama ng Yutchengco Group of Companies (YGC) ang mapua, the institute has already set its milestone long before they even thought of buying the school itself.

inaamin ko naman na nung ang pamilya mapua-lim pa ang may ari ng institute eh bulok bulok yung mga facilities namin (not to mention yung banyo namin na may uling para ma-absorb yung panghi sa looban).makikita mo pa nga kami sa 4th floor south blgd (ang baluarte ng mga arki) na nagdadrafting ng pawisan kasi bentilador lang ang nasa kwarto saka yung iba naghuhubad na. despite all these inexcusable traits, every student is guaranteed to have their money's worth through quality education.pahirapan ang mga subjects lalo na sa mgalaboratory (sabi ng mga engineering studs). besides, all of these has made us what we are today.

YGC has came into the picture in 2001 where several things has changed within the campus...

renovation of several areas have been implemented. biglang naging airconditioned ang mga kwarto (na pag walang klase eh nila-lock...langya!!!!). nagkaron ng mga modern facilities (hanep!).

all of these upgrades comes with a price...A VERY VERY PAINFUL PRICE. from regular semester naging QUARTERM SYSTEM bigla! OMG! wala nang natutunan ang mga enrollees!!!! imagine, you have to learn and understand one subject within 3 months?!

(but wait...theres more)

QUARTERM...meaning apat na beses ka rin magbabayad ng tuition fee!!!

kung dati 23 units ang max...naging 15 bigla! punyeta!!!!

i was in my 3rd year in college when this happened.

after all that, nawalan ako ng gana sa school.nung high school ako proud ako kasi mapuan ako...pero sabi ng mga kaklase ko kelangan humble ka kaya bawal magyabang (di ba sir ned?!).

now, i feel ashamed...naging MONEY MATTERS na lang ang institution na inalagaan ng mga pamilyang mapua saka lim. sayang!!!!!

bottomline is....there are A LOT OF INDIVIDUALS like myself who disagrees with the plan of the top brass' at YCG about converting MIT to MC. this is just a demonstration of how greed and selfishness manipulates all those who crave for money and power.

i havent heard any big news from my alma mater (mapua tech) since i graduated last august. when i checked my friendster account earlier i have received several messages concerning my beloved school (eh kaw ba naman ang magmahal sa skul mo simula high school hanggang makagraduate ka ng college e yun ang pinupuntahan mo eh). heres one sample of that same message from "mark."

after reading the contents, i was shoked, but not surprised.all along when YGC company entered the picture several years ago, i know they are up to no good. to them "business is the name of the game." as if money is tantamount to everything!

education started since time and memorial.education is considered as a very sensitive and honorable discipline. when yutchengco came into the picture, education has lost its honor to whatever that YGC gets its filty hands into!!!

my alma mater means so much to me even though im already an alumni, i still have the respect for the late founder, Don Tomas Mapua (who is the first licensed architect in the country).

bureaucracy has been an epidemic...which is an understatement for the plague it has caused to the society. a PANDEMIC is more likely the term most approrpiate for the figureheads at YGC.

this really sucks....
